Good Enough 03:47
Protected we were set to be nothing but useless Defected just broken down Stripped of all kindness Protected we’ll crash And I’ll suffer for it The chain sits so heavy It’s strangled us stupid But - My son, What we’ve done Ever forgotten, Broken in vision My love, What is done Ever forgotten - Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be good? I turn is coming over Though it’s broken and faded The noughts turn so slowly Though they’re shallow and basic My clothes are wet from sweat From the pressure to fake this But time is my healer To whom I owe everything My son, What we’ve done Ever forgotten, Broken in vision My love, What is done Ever forgotten - Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be - When it all breaks down I’ll tell you now I’ll stand clean, we’ll be forgiven Take in the light, Tailored to life You’ll stand clean, You’ll be forgiven My son, What we’ve done Ever forgotten, Broken in vision My love, What is done Ever forgotten when All is forgiven My son, What we’ve done Ever forgotten, Broken in vision My love, What is done Ever forgotten when All is forgiven Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be good enough? Would I be good? Will I be good?

Home 03:29
Patiently, I watch you tentatively For any little sign that I Could breathe in revive Dead parts of your life Talk I just can’t stop So, do you believe in past lives, you know? All the stuff that I like ‘Cause I don’t know Wrapped around Your wrist so tightly bound Bind to me like history So fierce in its certainty – I’m Twisted ‘round I lost all sense of me Everything moves lazily Until and then you ask me Can I take you home? I’ve taken notes Of how many times you got close I’m sure that I’m mad, you know? But some how you make me feel less alone I don’t feel alone Wrapped around Your wrist so tightly bound Bind to me like history So fierce in its certainty – I’m Twisted ‘round I lost all sense of me Everything moves lazily Until and then you ask me I’ve been with you a thousand times But that’s just all In my mind In my mind It’s all pretend, under my sleeve But it feels so real For me In my mind Wrapped around Your wrist so tightly bound Bind to me like history So fierce in its certainty – I’m Twisted ‘round I lost all sense of me Nothing in me moves, Until and then you Take me home Can I take you home? Can I take you home?

I’ll keep to my north side You can stalk on the east Boarders, split sides I kept myself to me for weeks My fires are a life-line Your passage is free Take offense to your new ties Take offense to the lies you spread about me [I’ll do this on my own] My name my face The skin of my life I’ll live it the way I like [Pay me what I’m owed] Looking at me with big eyes Speaking with a mouth of spite You can say what you like I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own Looking forward When you’re backward I still remember all your bigoted words But I’m - Glass eyed Unshy Say all the things that you Never really like Waiting down by the side lines Unscripted lines, they never saw the light Waiting out by the fireside Feeding off the heat for a life line – oh my god [[I’ll do this on my own] My name my face The skin of my life I’ll live it the way I like [Pay me what I’m owed] Looking at me with big eyes Speaking with a mouth of spite You can say what you like I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own Take offense to your new ties Take offense to all your lies, Take offense to your new guise, Take offense to all your petty little lies Take offense to your new guise Take offense to all your lies Take offense to your new ties Take offense to all your petty little lies [I’ll do this on my own] My name my face The skin of my life I’ll live it the way I like [Pay me what I’m owed] Looking at me with big eyes Speaking with a mouth of spite You can say what you like I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own I can’t do that, I can’t do that on my own

Reclaim 03:45
Boudica had an army I just got me, honey Boudica had an army I just got me, honey Be that great old city tower Crank your neck Just look a little, little higher Be all they all thought you’d never be I was defeated You’d think I’d leave it – honey The best reprise their lies Then they succeed I’m that wealth of my own power Crank your neck Just look a little, little higher I’m all they all thought I’d never be Reclaim my throne Your ego sat upon Be a man at arms at the break of dawn Oh I wanna see your face, my battle’s won Stake a claim Reclaim my fame – it’s on Boudica had an army I just got me, honey Broken down, sewn up Seen a lot in my time Perception is deceit Leave it all to me, honey Sewn up, broken town I’m taking what is owed to me Take it all down I never said a thing - I (I know you’re pulling out the big guns) Tell me I’m the queen, I’m the only one who knows how (You’re really, - ah) Take it all down I never said a thing – I I know you’re pulling out the big guns I know you’re – Reclaim my throne Your ego sat upon Be a man at arms at the break of dawn Oh I wanna see your face, my battle’s won Stake a claim Reclaim my fame – it’s on Down on your knees Pledge your alliagence Long may she reign, They sing I’m your queen now – Who’s pulling out the big guns? Oh, it’s funny how the tables turn Now who’s the hunted, Who’s the victim? Reclaim my throne Your ego sat upon Be a man at arms at the break of dawn Oh I wanna see your face, my battle’s won Stake a claim Reclaim my fame – it’s Who are you? (ah) Who are you? Who are you? (ah) Who are you?

about

Baby Taylah isn’t confined to the ‘genre box’. To best describe her style, think if Bishop Briggs and X Ambassadors could have a musical lovechild but with classic Celtic roots woven in between. Soon the singer is set to release her debut EP Good Enough with Icons Creating Evil Art.

Discovering her passion for music at the age of 14, Baby Taylah is a multi-talented artist in her own right, from playing the guitar to the harp, Taylah can do just about anything. Having performed in and around the Glasgow music scene from 2009, She has since then performed at Scotland’s TRNSMT festival on their very first female-led ‘Queen Tut’s stage’.

Self-titled opener ‘Good Enough’ explores human errors, and how the next generation must learn to not repeat these mistakes. Taylah says: “I wrote the lyrics for ‘Good Enough' a few years ago in a hotel room. I had the idea of writing a song to the future generation explaining that the world is the way it is because of mistakes we have made, but they have the opportunity to re-build a better way of living.
It’s mainly about forgiveness: accepting our past so we can move forward, but asking myself if there is an afterlife would I be good enough to make it through myself.
I feel like it’s relevant now in times of change”

While 'Home’ explores the craving one feels when wanting to be around someone that is no longer present in their everyday life. Juggling a variety of musical styles and influences from the electropop and classical ballad scenes, her powerful angelic vocals compliment the tracks sophisticated, yet shimmering sound. She tells us: "Menial everyday tasks like simply travelling back home with that person is something you would pay a high price just to experience it for one last time.”

Elsewhere on the record, ‘Reclaim’ is the tale of taking back control and becoming the ruler of your own life. Discussing the inspiration behind the track, she says: "I wrote Reclaim at a time when I felt very out of control and trapped. I had a conversation with my sister in which I said that I wasn’t prepared to become a victim of my personal circumstance". The cinematic number went on to receive BBC Radio plays from Vic Galloway and Nicole Meighan, and was also championed by Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio.

Good Enough EP will be released June 26th via Icons Creating Evil Art.
